Dark Lord Rob's DarkForce

Excelsior!

I can't believe you guys!" I said, and I meant it, too. "We came all this way to debunk this guy - no offense!" I nodded to the Dark Lord, who made a dismissive no problemo kind of gesture "-then he flicks on a TV and you're all ready to go take on what for all we know is a dangerously insane and heavily armed nut cult!"
"Yeah," Shana said, "Ain't it cool!"
I shook my head. "I mean, like, jeez, come on, alright?"
Nathan scowled. "Twonky, I admit your point, but, however he's done it, magic or manipulation, the Dark Lord has brought to our attention a matter well worth looking into. I think we should investigate, maybe do a little good."
"And I say it's none of our business," I replied, though I could read the writing on the wall, ha ha, that's kind of funny in retrospect, that expression, I mean, book of Daniel, lion's den, all that.
"I'm with Nathan," Maggie said, nodding seriously. "Just because it came to us as a coincidence doesn't mean we shouldn't follow it up."
"Never look askance at coincidence," the Dark Lord said, inscrutably. "It's never as mere as it appears."
"Sounds like a fortune cookie," Shana said.
"Stop," he replied, "You're making me hungry."
"So," Nathan said, "Is it settled, then? Do we take on the Brotherhood of Guardians?"
     Everyone looked at me.
I threw up my hands. "Whatever."
"Excellent!" the Dark Lord said, rubbing his hands together like a Bond villain.
"You have it in for these guys?" Nathan asked.
The Dark Lord laughed. "Hardly. Frankly, I've never heard of them before. I only know that the wheels of the Universe are locking together in the preordained pattern.."
"Like Twonky said," Shana said, "Whatever."
